The exhibition presents a series of recent works by the artist focusing on language as a plastic material, a perceptual device, and a tool for transformation.

At the center of the exhibition is the installation “Graphemes for the Hands, Phonemes for the Ears”: one hundred and eighty sheets forming an alphabet in which the minimal sounds of language — phonemes — become visual elements and mirrors of a shifting identity. The work explores the relationship between language and perception, examining the interferences that arise when expressing oneself in a language other than one's own, and how this affects communication, thought, and mutual recognition. Here, language ceases to be a neutral vehicle: it becomes friction, a threshold, a possibility for rewriting.

The practice of Teresa Gargiulo (Naples, 1996) moves across writing, drawing, sculpture, and installation, with an approach that blends analytical precision and the evocative power of language. Her work deconstructs words to explore their invisible structures, emotional resonances, and ambiguities. It is a grammar that disassembles itself in search of new combinations and new forms of meaning. Gargiulo graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and won the Campania stage of JaguArt – The Italian Talent Road Show in 2020.
